Welcome to my latest publication of Domestic Chaos Theory…
Questionable Selfies. My wife is constantly capturing photos to post on Facebook. She spends an inordinate amount of time reviewing each possible photo, so you’d think every photo would be fantastic. Not so. Because there is only one criterion. How she looks. There are times where this strategy does not work to my advantage.
Kentucky Scrabble Rules. We play a lot of Scrabble. I used to win all the time. Now I don’t. I’m thinking my decision to allow my Southern wife to select the dictionary we use to check words may have been misguided.
Old Man Vibes. My oldest son is a financial analyst for a valuation company. He does valuations of companies that private equity firms own or are seeking to acquire. I have no idea how he does this. All of my previous experience with him suggests that he has absolutely no idea what things cost. Apparently, your kids grow up. In his case, he’s grown up so much that he’s even starting to cop an old man vibe. When your son starts saying things like “can you turn the music down”, “I need to get up early tomorrow” and “how much do you think car insurance costs”, you know things have changed. (The car insurance thing is clearly a joke. Of course we’re still paying for his car insurance.)
